Barbizon NYC recently showed up on my Instagram Explore page and I was surprised by how they reinvented themselves.

For those of you that may not be familiar, Barbizon used to be an Iconic Hotel in New York City. It was once the go-to destination for models and fashion industry professionals. The Barbizon Hotel, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, was a legendary establishment. It was a residential hotel that catered to young, single women who were pursuing careers. The hotel provided a safe and supportive environment for these women, offering amenities like a beauty salon, a dressmaking shop, and a dining room where they could mingle and network with industry professionals.

Today, Barbizon is a modeling and acting school with many locations across the US. They train both children and adults in modeling, acting, singing, dancing, etiquette, and overall development. The Barbizon company has had its share of up and downs but a recent shift in its marketing strategy for its NYC flagship location has placed the company back on track to return to its glory days. 

Barbizon NYC’s social media marketing strategy celebrates the iconic days of the Barbizon Hotel by bringing back the je ne sais quoi that made Barbizon so special in the early 1900s while incorporating modern trends that make them more relevant to a newer generation. 

Barbizon NYC’s content is editorial, lifestyle, fun, artistic, and informative. It serves you glamour and authenticity by pulling back the curtain just enough to give you the right amount of transparency. 

One of the things that make their reinvented presence so special is their commitment to inclusivity and diversity. While the original Barbizon Hotel was primarily geared towards white, middle-class women, they now feature a wide range of women and men of all races, ethnicities, backgrounds, and other unique qualities. Barbizon NYC celebrates the beauty and creativity of all women, men, and children, regardless of their size or shape.
